about
Los Angeles-based director and creative Marcos Zavitsanos has built a distinguished career crafting commercials and digital content for some of the world’s most recognizable brands and esteemed non-profit organizations. His work has elevated brands like Nike, Toyota, Heineken, ADIDAS, Walmart, NASCAR, Gatorade, Budweiser, VW, and many more, earning prestigious accolades from Cannes, the London International Advertising Awards, Telly, Media, Mobius, Pencil, 4A’s, and other top-tier award circuits.
Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Zavitsanos studied advertising at a local community college before making a pivotal decision—rather than transferring to the University of Maryland’s film program, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue hands-on industry experience at the legendary Propaganda Films. There, he absorbed knowledge from directing giants like David Fincher, Michael Bay, Antoine Fuqua, Spike Jonze, and Mark Romanek, later expanding his experience under directors Ridley Scott, Graham Henman, and Zack Snyder, with Snyder co-signing his DGA initiation.
While working as a production assistant, Zavitsanos took the initiative to write, produce, and direct five commercials, resulting in an award-winning spec reel that gained widespread recognition and led to his signing with a top-tier production company.
Throughout his career, Zavitsanos has seamlessly navigated multiple genres, collaborating with celebrities and sports figures including Kevin Garnett, JJ Watt, Kevin Hart, Ne-Yo, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tony Stewart, and Kevin Harvick. Beyond directing, he is a creative force in concept development, execution, and original content strategy for advertising agencies and brands.
Currently, Zavitsanos spearheads The Culprits, his boutique-style hybrid content company, where he embraces a hands-on, multifaceted approach to production.
2023 - Zavitsanos was selected to replace an AOR for CODE: By Gentry, a high-end shoe line founded by Gentry Humphrey, the legendary ex-Nike VP who played a pivotal role in shaping the Jordan Brand. Zavitsanos led the brand launch, directing a dynamic live eight-camera production to introduce the footwear line to the world.
2024 - Zavitsanos was tapped by Richard and Dick Carrier to develop content for their men’s underwear brand, DICK CARRIERS. As the company seeks investors, he is leveraging AI-driven strategies and cost-effective resources to push the brand forward on a shoestring budget. Simultaneously, he is overseeing the brand’s content messaging and media presence, with ongoing partnership discussions involving Conor McGregor and other prominent athletes.
2025 - Zavitsanos was tapped to rebrand the healthiest meal/energy bar ever produced. What will follow is a full branding redesign; name, packaging, art direction & copy for print, social media and online content.
Driven by a passion for storytelling and innovation, Zavitsanos continues to redefine branded content, seamlessly merging cinematic excellence with cutting-edge marketing strategies.
Zavitsanos has also developed and pitched multiple scripted and unscripted series, all rooted in original intellectual property he has personally acquired. These projects are based on real people and true events, forming the foundation for compelling, character-driven storytelling with built-in authenticity. With a strong eye for concept and a deep respect for narrative integrity, he focuses on stories that are both commercially viable and emotionally resonant. His work reflects a passion for elevating real-life experiences into memorable and meaningful content.

“The Real Conor”:60
At first glance, it’s a scene straight out of Conor McGregor’s playbook—he’s in his element, holding court at a lively Irish pub. The atmosphere is classic: dark wood interiors, laughter, clinking glasses, and all the familiar Irish pub tropes. The audience settles in, expecting a rowdy night of drinks, jokes, and camaraderie.
But just when it feels like a typical night out with Conor and the boys, the rug gets pulled out from under them. As the pub winds down and the bartender calls last orders, the real reason everyone is gathered is revealed—the bar isn’t just a bar. It’s actually a support group. And the topic? Male support—not in friendship, but in underwear.
Cue the comedic contrast: burly, tough-looking men sheepishly admitting to the struggles of unsupportive, saggy boxers. Some sport baggy shorts adorned with hearts and shamrocks; others wear tattered, stretched-out briefs that have clearly seen better days. Enter Conor, now playing the wise (yet still hilariously intense) leader of this unconventional meeting. With his signature charm, he passionately explains the importance of proper male support, presenting DICK CARRIERS underwear as the ultimate solution.
As the guys nod in agreement, Conor hands out sleek, stylish DICK CARRIERS tubes. One by one, they slip into their new gear—just in time for an unexpected comedic twist. A pair of confused delivery men walk in, only to find a room full of relieved, satisfied men standing around, basking in their newfound comfort. Their bewildered expressions say it all.
And, of course, in true Conor fashion, before the night ends, someone still gets thrown through a window.

One night I couldn’t sleep. I decided to walk around Hollywood to test out a brand new ring light that I had recently purchased. What started out as some experimental street-life photography, turned into a small pro-bono print campaign for a homeless shelter.
